Volvo XC40 I facelift (XZ) (2022 – 2025)

Reliability score : 8.2/10

The first-generation Volvo XC40 received a facelift in early 2022. 🎯 Verdict

The facelifted Volvo XC40 (2022-2025) is an extremely appealing, comfortable, and safe premium compact SUV. However, if you are looking for a diesel, you are on the wrong track: Volvo eradicated this powertrain from this model in 2020. For high-mileage drivers, you will need to turn to the excellent B3/B4 (mild-hybrid) engines, which are very reliable, albeit a bit thirsty, or to competitors (BMW X1). The real strength of this Phase 2 lies in its 100% electric versions (especially the post-2023 RWD models), despite early issues marred by annoying software bugs (TCAM module). It is a recommended purchase, provided that all electronic updates have been performed.
