If you want a Plug-in Hybrid, strongly prioritize the post-2022 models (18.8 kWh battery). Not only do they offer double the electric range, but Volvo also removed the mechanical supercharger and updated the ERAD system, significantly improving long-term reliability. Early T8 models (2018-2021) should be approached with caution and ideally purchased with an extended warranty due to potential ERAD and HVCH failures.
