🎯 Verdict

The Volvo S70 is an excellent gateway into the world of reliable and daily-usable youngtimers. The 2.5 TDI version is a truly tireless workhorse: although noisy, it offers exceptional longevity and very reasonable fuel consumption for its size. It is a highly recommended purchase for high-mileage drivers. For gasoline versions, prioritize 1997-1998 models (cable throttle) to avoid the costly electronic throttle module (ETM) problems of the 1999-2000 model years. In any case, budget for front axle refurbishment and ensure the air conditioning works.
