Reliability score : 8.5/10

The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan (Mk3, based on the MQB Evo platform) marks a major technological evolution for Wolfsburg's star SUV. 🎯 Verdict

The Volkswagen Tiguan III is an extremely accomplished SUV that corrects the early flaws of the previous generation (notably ergonomics and infotainment). Regarding the 2.0 TDI: it is a brilliant, torquey, and incredibly fuel-efficient engine on the highway. The EA288 evo block is now free from the shortcomings of its predecessors. However, its purchase is justified only if you drive more than 25,000 km per year, mainly on roads/highways, or if you tow regularly. For urban or suburban use, the DPF will inevitably clog; you will then need to opt for the 1.5 eTSI or the excellent 1.5 eHybrid.
