The second-generation Volkswagen Sharan (type 7N), launched in 2010, is a large family MPV, a technical twin of the Seat Alhambra. It succeeds a long-successful model and positions itself as a more spacious and versatile alternative to SUVs. Recognized for its exceptional spaciousness, practical sliding doors, and ride comfort, the Sharan 7N benefited from a facelift in 2015 (phase 2) bringing minor aesthetic changes, new more efficient engines (notably the EA288 TDI and EA211 TSI engines), and updated technological equipment. It offers up to 7 real seats and a substantial cargo volume. Its reliability is generally good, but some engines, particularly the first TSI petrol versions, have experienced recurring problems that require particular vigilance when purchasing.
