🎯 Verdict

The Volkswagen ID.5 is a highly competent family electric SUV, penalized at its launch by rushed software development. On a strictly mechanical level (motors, battery), reliability is solid. The problems are concentrated on the onboard electronics and ergonomics. Buying advice: - AVOID 2021/early 2022 models that have not received major software updates at the dealership. - NEGOTIATE a 2022/2023 model (Pro Performance 204 hp) provided the software is at least version 3.2 and the price reflects the steep depreciation. - BUY with your eyes closed the versions produced from late 2023 onwards (286 hp / 340 hp engine) equipped with the 4.0 software, which radically transform the user experience and the vehicle's efficiency.
