Volkswagen ID.2 (Generation I) The Volkswagen ID.2 (derived from the ID. 2all concept) marks a crucial turning point for the German manufacturer. Based on the new MEB Entry platform, its mission is to democratize the electric car with a targeted starting price under €25,000. 🎯 Verdict

The Volkswagen ID.2 represents the true revival of Volkswagen in the electric era, correcting the early mistakes of the ID.3 (disastrous all-touch ergonomics, low-end plastics). It is an extremely promising model on paper. Regarding the request for a Diesel model: You have to give up on the TDI in this segment at Volkswagen. The ID.2 is exclusively electric. If you are looking for a recent small diesel vehicle from VW, you must turn to the used market (Polo VI 1.6 TDI, discontinued several years ago). Buying advice: As with any new Volkswagen Group model (especially electric), there is an urgent need to wait. The first 6 to 12 months of production generally experience the initial software bugs. Favor the 56 kWh version if you leave the city, or the 38 kWh (LFP) for strictly urban and suburban use where its battery will be virtually indestructible.
