The Vauxhall Corsa E (marketed as Opel in the rest of Europe) is not an entirely new generation, but a major and very successful redesign of the Corsa D. Based on the SCCS platform (developed jointly with Fiat), it corrects the main flaws of its predecessor: the suspension has been completely re-engineered for more comfort, the steering recalibrated, and the interior takes a qualitative leap forward with the integration of the IntelliLink infotainment system. On the used car market, it is a rational city car, offering an excellent price/equipment ratio, controlled maintenance costs, and very decent overall reliability, particularly with its proven petrol engines.
The Vauxhall/Opel Corsa E is an extremely rational used car choice. While not excelling in any specific area compared to a Fiesta or a Polo, it offers an ideal compromise for tight budgets thanks to its rapid depreciation and generous equipment. Prioritize the 1.4i petrol engines (90 hp) for flawless low-cost reliability, or the 1.0T (115 hp) for more driving pleasure. Avoid the Easytronic automated manual gearbox and steer clear of the 1.3 CDTi diesel unless you exclusively drive on highways.
