🎯 Verdict

The Toyota GR Yaris Phase 2 (2024+) is a masterpiece of automotive engineering and one of the last true uncompromising combustion-engine sports cars. The improvements made to the engine, chassis, and ergonomics correct the rare flaws of the first iteration. Its mechanical reliability is remarkable for such a level of performance. If you are looking for a diesel subcompact, you will have to turn to older generation models (Peugeot 208 BlueHDi, Renault Clio dCi), which offer absolutely none of the same sporty features. If you want the GR Yaris, it will be exclusively in petrol, and it is a highly recommended purchase for enthusiasts.
