The second-generation Subaru Crosstrek (code name GT), also marketed as the Subaru XV in Europe until the third generation, is based on the new Subaru Global Platform (SGP). This compact SUV stands out with its standard Symmetrical AWD and generous ground clearance of 22 cm (8.7 inches), giving it genuine off-road capabilities. This generation marks the introduction of electrified powertrains: the e-Boxer (MHEV) in Europe and Asia, and a Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version developed with Toyota technology (StarDrive) for the North American market. Recognized for its robustness, active safety (EyeSight system), and excellent resale value, the Crosstrek GT corrects many flaws of the first generation (soundproofing, chassis rigidity, finish quality).
