The Skoda Scala (Generation I, type NW2) was unveiled at the end of 2018 to replace the Rapid Spaceback. The Skoda Scala is one of the most pragmatic and intelligent choices on the used car market. It offers the space of a compact car for the price of a city car. Regarding the 1.6 TDI: It is a robust and extremely frugal engine, perfect for sales representatives or families making regular long journeys. However, its purchase is only justified if you drive more than 20,000 km per year, mostly outside urban areas, to avoid clogging the DPF and EGR valve. For 80% of buyers, the 1.0 TSI 110/115 hp will be a more sensible choice, easier to find, less subject to traffic restrictions (LEZ) and just as reliable. Be careful with models equipped with the DSG7 gearbox: opt for a car with a clear history and avoid those that have been used exclusively in the city.
