Skoda Fabia IV (PJ) (2021 – Présent)

Reliability score : 8.8/10

The fourth-generation Skoda Fabia (internal code PJ) marks a major turning point for the Czech city car. 🎯 Verdict

The Skoda Fabia IV is an extremely rational and recommendable choice. By adopting the MQB-A0 platform, it has ironed out the flaws of its predecessor to become one of the most well-rounded city cars on the market. Its mechanical reliability is excellent, with the Volkswagen Group's EA211 evo engines now largely proven. The most sensible choice is the 1.0 TSI 95 hp with a manual gearbox, which offers the best price/performance/reliability ratio. The 1.0 TSI 110/115 hp is perfect for regular drivers. The only reservation concerns the DSG7 gearbox (DQ200) for those who drive exclusively in congested city traffic, where a manual gearbox (or a competitor with a torque converter/hybrid) will be more durable.
