Seat Arona I facelift (KJ) (2021 – 2025)

Reliability score : 8.6/10

Seat Arona I Facelift (KJ) Initially launched in 2017, the Seat Arona received a mid-life facelift in 2021. Based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB-A0 platform (shared with the Ibiza, VW T-Cross, and Skoda Kamiq), this B-segment urban SUV took advantage of this update to correct its main flaw: the perceived quality of its interior. The dashboard was completely redesigned with soft-touch materials and the integration of the new MIB3 infotainment system. Mechanically, phase 2 (2021-2025) definitively abandoned diesel (the 1.6 TDI having been discontinued in 2020) and offers no hybridization (neither MHEV nor PHEV), as the MQB-A0 platform has not been electrified by Seat. The offering therefore focuses exclusively on very mature and reliable petrol (TSI) engines, as well as a CNG (TGI) variant in

🎯 Verdict

The facelifted Seat Arona (2021-2025) is an excellent purchase choice in the urban SUV category. By correcting the hard plastics of the first phase, Seat has made its model much more welcoming. The absence of hybrid or diesel engines may deter some buyers, but in return, it guarantees a very high level of mechanical reliability, as the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engines are now free of their early defects. The expert's choice: The 1.0 TSI 110 or 115 hp with manual gearbox represents the perfect compromise. If you opt for the DSG7 automatic gearbox, favor mixed use (road/highway) rather than 100% urban to preserve the dry clutches.
