The Renault Twingo II (codename CN0) marks a radical break from the first generation. Gone is the monobox profile and frog-like face; it adopts the silhouette of a classic 3-door city car. Based on the proven Clio II platform, it gains significantly in road handling, safety, and sound insulation. Phase 1 (2007-2011): Design often considered too conservative, but excellent modularity thanks to independent and sliding rear seats (depending on trim level). Phase 2 (2011-2014): Deep restyling of the front end (return of round headlights) to give it back some personality. In terms of reliability, it is one of the most robust Renaults of its era. The gasoline engines (D and K family) are older, largely proven blocks. It is a highly recommendable used car purchase, provided you avoid the disastro
The Renault Twingo II is an extremely rational and reassuring used car choice. By abandoning the originality of the first generation, it gained in maturity and reliability. The gasoline engines, especially the 1.2 16v 75 hp, are models of robustness and are very inexpensive to maintain. It's the ideal city car for a new driver or as a second vehicle. Absolutely avoid the Quickshift automated manual gearbox and steer clear of diesels if you only drive in the city.
