🎯 Verdict

The Renault Mégane III is an excellent used car, provided you choose the right engine. It has erased the electronic missteps of its predecessor and offers a very high-level chassis. For petrol, the choice is binary: favor the historical blocks (1.6 16v K4M, 2.0 16v M4R, 2.0 TCe F4Rt) which are incredibly robust. On the other hand, absolutely avoid the 1.2 TCe, a real mechanical time bomb, and be very cautious with the 1.4 TCe (cylinder head gasket). For diesel, the overall assessment is very positive, particularly with the indestructible 2.0 dCi, ideal for high-mileage drivers.
