The Renault Kangoo III represents a massive leap forward for Renault's iconic leisure activity vehicle (LAV) and light commercial vehicle (LCV). Moving to the modern CMF-C/D platform (shared with the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Austral), it abandons its utilitarian roots for a much more car-like driving experience, vastly improved sound insulation, and modern active safety features. Developed in close partnership with Mercedes-Benz (which sells it as the Citan and T-Class) and Nissan (Townstar), the Kangoo III benefits from stringent quality control. The Renault Kangoo III is a highly accomplished vehicle that successfully bridges the gap between a commercial van and a comfortable family car. Buying Advice: The 1.3 TCe petrol is the absolute sweet spot of the range—it is refined, punchy, and highly reliable. It is the best choice for 80% of buyers. The 1.5 Blue dCi should only be considered if you drive more than 25,000 km a year, mostly on highways, due to the fragile AdBlue system which hates short urban trips. The E-Tech Electric is an excellent, smooth option for urban families or local delivery businesses, provided you can charge at home and do not require long-distance highway cruising.
