Porsche Macan I (95B) (2014 – 2018)

Reliability score : 7.8/10

The first-generation Porsche Macan (Type 95B, phase 1) has established itself as the dynamic benchmark for premium family SUVs. Based on a heavily modified Audi Q5 platform (MLB), it distinguishes itself with a specific chassis tuning, a rear-biased AWD system, and the exclusive use of the 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. The Macan S Diesel, the engine targeted here, uses the robust Audi-sourced 3.0 V6 TDI (EA897). It offers an exceptional compromise between performance (580 Nm of torque) and fuel efficiency, ideal for high-mileage drivers. Overall, the Macan boasts a very impressive reliability record (TÜV and ADAC rank it among the best in its class), although a few costly design flaws (transfer case, oil leaks) require particular vigilance when buying used.
