🎯 Verdict

The Peugeot 5008 III corrects the biggest flaw of its predecessor: the 1.2 PureTech finally has a timing chain, which should reassure buyers. The STLA Medium platform brings undeniable modernity and allows for 7 electric seats, a rarity in the market. However, the simultaneous introduction of new powertrains, new gearboxes (Punch Powertrain), and a new software architecture exposes 2024-2025 models to risks of early production defects. It is advisable to favor leasing (LOA/LLD) or wait for the 2026 model year for an outright purchase, allowing time for the initial issues to be ironed out.
