Peugeot 5008 II (P87) (2017 – 2024)

Reliability score : 5.8/10

The Peugeot 5008 II (P87) marks a radical departure from its predecessor, abandoning the traditional MPV silhouette to become a sleek, stretched 7-seater SUV based on the highly successful 3008 II. Built on the EMP2 platform, it offers a striking exterior design, the futuristic 'i-Cockpit' interior, and three independent, folding seats in the second row, plus two removable seats in the third row. 🎯 Verdict

The Peugeot 5008 II is a brilliantly packaged family SUV, offering MPV-like practicality wrapped in a highly desirable design. However, buying one requires extreme caution regarding the powertrain. If you want petrol: Avoid the 1.2 PureTech 130 unless you have documented proof of a recent timing belt change, a clean oil strainer, and a comprehensive warranty. The 1.6 THP 165 / PureTech 180 is a much safer and more capable petrol choice. The late-model 1.2 Hybrid 136 (MHEV) is promising but still expensive. If you want diesel: The 2.0 BlueHDi is the absolute best engine for this heavy vehicle, offering bulletproof mechanics (aside from the standard AdBlue risks). Avoid the 1.5 BlueHDi unless the 8mm camshaft chain upgrade has been completed.
