The 1.4 Turbo petrol and 1.7 CDTI diesel engines should be approached with caution, prioritizing post-2013 models for the 1.4T and demanding an impeccable service history for the 1.7 CDTI. A well-chosen and maintained Meriva B can be an excellent family companion, but a thorough inspection is essential.
