The Mercedes-Benz GLB (X247) is a premium compact SUV based on the MFA2 platform (shared with the A-Class, B-Class, and GLA). Its positioning is unique in its category: it adopts an assertive cubic design (reminiscent of the old GLK or G-Class) allowing it to offer up to 7 seats in a footprint of only 4.63 m. Launched in late 2019, it received a facelift in 2023, bringing a revised light signature, the latest generation of the MBUX system, and, most importantly, 48V mild-hybridization (MHEV) across all gasoline engines. Although this report focuses on gasoline engines (highly popular on this model), the GLB also offers excellent diesels.
