Mercedes EQE I (V295) (2021 – 2024)

Reliability score : 8.2/10

The Mercedes-Benz EQE (V295 generation) is a 100% electric executive sedan, positioned as the zero-emission equivalent of the E-Class. Based on the dedicated EVA2 platform (shared with its big sister, the EQS), it adopts an ultra-aerodynamic "One-Bow" design (Cd of 0.22) that favors range. While it shines with its exceptional ride comfort, top-tier soundproofing, and onboard technology (with the optional Hyperscreen), it suffers from a very high weight (often over 2.4 tonnes) and rear passenger space penalized by the sloping roofline. Overall note: Exclusively electric vehicle (BEV). The ICE/hybrid equivalent at Mercedes is the E-Class (W214).

✅ Strengths

⚠️ Weaknesses

🎯 Verdict

The Mercedes EQE is a formidable machine for devouring highway miles in absolute silence and comfort. Its mechanical and electrical reliability (motors, battery) has been excellent so far, with the main issues focusing on software bugs (often resolved remotely) and preventive safety recalls. However, its pachydermic weight leads to rapid tire wear and an unassuring braking feel. Buying advice: Favor a recent used EQE 350+ (1 to 2 years old). Since depreciation on high-end electric vehicles is very steep, you will avoid the financial loss of the first few years while benefiting from a vehicle under warranty with early teething problems corrected.
