It embodies Mazda's 'zoom-zoom' philosophy with a lightweight, agile chassis that makes everyday driving genuinely fun. The 1.3 and 1.5 MZR engines are virtually bulletproof if given basic maintenance. However, the diesel variants (1.4 and 1.6 MZ-CD) should be strictly avoided due to their PSA/Ford origins, which bring a host of expensive reliability issues (turbos, DPFs, injector seals).
