Lexus UX I Facelift (AYX10) The Lexus UX (Urban Explorer) is the entry-level compact SUV from the Japanese premium manufacturer, based on the TNGA-C platform. The 2022 facelift corrected the model's main flaw: its infotainment system. The old touchpad was replaced by an intuitive 8- or 12.3-inch touchscreen (Lexus Link / Link Pro). Expert verdict The Lexus UX I Facelift (2022+) is one of the most reliable premium compact SUVs on the global market. The facelift erased its biggest flaw (the obsolete multimedia system) to make it an extremely accomplished vehicle. Regarding diesel: Forget this idea. Lexus made the visionary choice of all-hybrid over 10 years ago. If you are a sales representative driving 50,000 km on the highway per year, the UX is not for you (turn to a diesel BMW X1). On the other hand, for urban, suburban, and classic highway use, the UX 250h or the new 300h are absolute best buys. Their maintenance costs are negligible, the fuel consumption is stunning, and peace of mind is total thanks to the Lexus Relax warranty. The UX 300e (electric) should be reserved for local use due to its CHAdeMO fast charging being unsuitable for long European trips. The only real compromise to accept with the UX remains its tiny trunk and cramped rear seats.
