Land Rover Range Rover V (L460) (2022 – 2025)

Reliability score : 7.4/10

The fifth-generation Land Rover Range Rover (L460), launched in 2022, is based on the new MLA-Flex (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform. Designed to offer a level of refinement worthy of ultra-luxury limousines (Bentley, Rolls-Royce), it marks a technological breakthrough with the introduction of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains with very long range (38.2 kWh battery offering over 100 km in all-electric mode) and the adoption of a BMW-sourced V8. Although the build quality and comfort are exceptional, the model remains penalized by the brand's reliability history, justifying a cautious overall rating. The first years of production have indeed been the subject of numerous recalls (software, assembly, leaks).

✅ Strengths

⚠️ Weaknesses

🎯 Verdict

The Range Rover L460 is arguably the most accomplished luxury SUV on the market in terms of comfort, design, and hybrid capabilities (the PHEV versions offer stunning electric range). However, the astronomical number of official recalls affecting critical components (oil leaks, cameras, structural assemblies, transmission) is a reminder that Land Rover reliability remains a major black mark. The purchase of a recent used model should only be considered with an extended manufacturer warranty (Approved) covering the entire period of ownership. The PHEV versions are the most relevant for tax purposes and daily use, but their complexity requires rigorous maintenance.
