Reliability score : 8.3/10

The KGM Musso (known as the SsangYong Musso until 2023, and Rexton Sports in South Korea), Q200 generation, is a pick-up resting on a robust ladder chassis shared with the Rexton SUV. It stands out for its excellent price-to-performance ratio, its spacious cabin (one of the best in the category for rear seats), and its legal towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes. It is available in two lengths: standard (coil spring rear suspension for more comfort) and Musso Grand / Rhino (extended wheelbase, longer bed, with an optional leaf spring suspension for an increased payload exceeding one tonne). Facelifted in 2021 (more aggressive front end) and then technologically updated in 2023/2024 during the transition to the KGM brand, it establishes itself as a reliable workhorse and an economical alternative t

🎯 Verdict

The KGM (SsangYong) Musso Q200 is an extremely pragmatic choice. Less refined on the road than a Ford Ranger and less valued than a Toyota Hilux, it compensates with a very high level of mechanical reliability, notably thanks to its proven 2.2 diesel engine / Aisin gearbox duo. It is a true workhorse, ideal for professionals, farmers, or individuals needing to tow heavy loads without breaking the bank. Buying used is highly recommended, provided you check the condition of the underbody (rust) and ensure that maintenance has been rigorously followed.
