Jeep Avenger I (2022 – 2025)

Reliability score : 7.6/10

The Jeep Avenger (Generation I) marks a historic turning point for the American brand by becoming its first urban SUV designed on Stellantis' e-CMP2 platform (shared with the Peugeot 2008 and Fiat 600). Voted 'Car of the Year 2023', it was initially conceived as a 100% electric model for Europe. However, due to demand and cost reasons, Jeep quickly introduced internal combustion (petrol) and mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrains. Its positioning is that of a compact B-SUV (4.08 m), with a very successful design and preserved light off-road capabilities (20 cm ground clearance, Selec-Terrain driving modes). Overall editorial rating: 7.5/10.

🎯 Verdict

The Jeep Avenger is an attractive urban SUV that has adapted its offering to market realities by reintroducing internal combustion engines. If you're looking for petrol, avoid the entry-level 1.2 Turbo 100 hp manual version, which carries the heavy legacy of the submerged belt (PureTech). Definitely prioritize the e-Hybrid versions (100 hp or 4xe 136 hp): they benefit from the brand new generation of the 1.2 engine equipped with a timing chain, eliminating Stellantis group's major reliability flaw. The electric version also remains an excellent choice for peri-urban use, despite some early bugs.
