The Jeep Avenger (Generation I) marks a historic turning point for the American manufacturer, becoming its very first 100% electric model. Voted “Car of the Year 2023” in Europe, this B-segment urban SUV (4.08 m) is based on the Stellantis group's e-CMP2 platform (shared with the Peugeot e-2008, Fiat 600e, and Alfa Romeo Junior). Manufactured in Tychy, Poland, it stands out with a very successful cubic design, integrating Jeep's stylistic DNA (7-slot grille, trapezoidal wheel arches) while offering ideal compactness for the city. Although initially conceived as a purely electric vehicle (BEV) for Western Europe, Jeep quickly introduced internal combustion (1.2 PureTech) and mild-hybrid (e-Hybrid) powertrains to meet demand in certain markets (Italy, Spain, then France). The Jeep Avenger is an excellent proposition in the urban electric SUV market. The 100% electric (156 hp) version is by far the most recommendable: it benefits from the new Stellantis powertrain, which proves to be very efficient, smooth, and, so far, free of major mechanical defects. The only drawbacks concern early software bugs, often corrected by updates. If you are looking for an internal combustion alternative, absolutely prioritize the 1.2 e-Hybrid 100 hp version (automatic gearbox), which uses a much more reliable chain timing system. AVOID the 1.2 Turbo 100 hp gasoline version with a manual gearbox, which retains the problematic wet belt of the Stellantis group. In summary: a love-at-first-sight purchase for its design, validated by reason if you choose the electric or mild-hybrid.
