Jaguar F-TYPE I facelift (X152) (2020 – 2024)

Reliability score : 7.6/10

The Jaguar F-TYPE Phase 2 (facelift of the X152 generation) was introduced in late 2019 for the 2020 model year. It stands out with a deeply redesigned front end, integrating horizontally slimmed LED headlights and a redesigned hood, giving it a more aggressive and modern look. Inside, it adopts a 12.3-inch 100% digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system (Touch Pro). Mechanically, this facelift marks a rationalization of the range: the V6 disappears in Europe in favor of a detuned V8 (P450), while the 4-cylinder Ingenium (P300) remains the entry level. The R version (P575) benefits from revised suspension. It is Jaguar's last 100% combustion-engine sports model, giving it future collector status, particularly in its V8 versions with their captivating sound. Overall relia

🎯 Verdict

The Jaguar F-Type Phase 2 is a passion purchase par excellence. While reason would dictate a Porsche 911, the F-Type seduces with its sculptural design and the charisma of its V8 engines (P450 and P575), which represent the true appeal of this model at the end of its career. The 4-cylinder (P300) is a good daily driver but lacks the nobility expected at this price point. In terms of reliability, the V8 blocks are robust (engine block and moving parts), but require strict vigilance regarding the cooling system (plastic pipes) and peripheral maintenance. It is a guaranteed future collector: favor a V8 model with a clear maintenance history and do not hesitate to preventively replace the plastic cooling components.
