🎯 Verdict

The Hyundai Elantra VII (CN7) is an excellent compact sedan, which has managed to erase the "budget" car image of its ancestors to become a leading alternative to the Japanese heavyweights (Civic, Corolla). Its mechanical reliability is very solid, particularly on the naturally aspirated engines (2.0 MPI) and the hybrid version (HEV), which shines with its efficiency and driving pleasure superior to competing e-CVT systems. The N Line version offers a good dynamic compromise, while the true Elantra N is a pure, hardcore sports car, praised by critics. The only downsides concern a series of safety recalls (notably the seatbelt pretensioners on 2021-2022 models) that must absolutely be checked before buying a used model. If the history is clear, it is a highly recommended purchase.
