Hyundai BAYON (2021 – présent)

Reliability score : 8.5/10

The Hyundai Bayon is an urban crossover (B-segment) launched in 2021, based on the technical platform of the i20 city car (BC3 generation). Designed specifically for the European market, it is positioned below the Kona in the Korean manufacturer's range. It stands out with a divisive and bold design, generous rear spaciousness for its size (4.18 m), and a very decent trunk volume (411 liters). Its major asset in the used car market is its fully transferable 5-year manufacturer's warranty (unlimited mileage), offering excellent peace of mind to second-hand buyers.

🎯 Verdict

The Hyundai Bayon is an extremely rational and reassuring choice in the used urban SUV market. While it may not turn heads with luxurious materials or sporty performance, it shines with its overall reliability, optimized interior space, and its 5-year warranty which still covers the majority of models available second-hand. The 1.0 T-GDi 100 hp engine coupled with the manual gearbox (or iMT) represents the best compromise. The 7DCT dual-clutch gearbox is pleasant for daily use but requires careful checking of its behavior during a test drive, especially if the vehicle has been driven extensively in the city.
