The Honda ZR-V (Generation I, code RZ) is a compact SUV (C-SUV) that fills the gap between the HR-V and CR-V in Honda's global lineup. Based on the excellent 11th-generation Civic platform, it inherits most of its dynamic qualities and refined interior. Nomenclature note: In North America, this model is sold as the Honda HR-V (the European/Japanese HR-V is not marketed there). In Europe, it is exclusively offered with the e:HEV hybrid powertrain, while other markets benefit from traditional internal combustion engines (1.5 Turbo or 2.0 naturally aspirated). It is a very recent vehicle, but it benefits from mechanical components already extensively proven on the Civic, ensuring an excellent initial level of reliability.
The Honda ZR-V is an extremely rational and safe choice. By adopting the Civic's technical foundation, it ensures first-rate mechanical reliability, particularly in the e:HEV version, which shines with its smoothness and fuel efficiency. Its main drawback lies in its size-to-cabin space ratio, with a trunk volume comparable to the segment below. If cargo volume is not your absolute priority, it is one of the most enjoyable to drive and most reliable compact SUVs on the current market.
