The Ford Mustang Mach-E benefited from a major technical update (often considered its mid-cycle 'facelift') starting in 2023. While the aesthetics evolved little, the underpinnings changed radically: introduction of LFP (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) batteries for the Standard Range versions (allowing daily charging to 100% without major degradation), and the integration of a new, more efficient rear motor in 2024, increasing range and torque. The teething problems of the 2021-2022 models (notably the infamous HVBJB high-voltage contactor defect) were corrected at the factory on this generation. The Mach-E asserts itself as a dynamic, spacious electric SUV equipped with an excellent infotainment system, although its damping remains firm.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E, in its 2023-2025 iteration, has reached maturity. The serious teething problems (melting high-voltage contactors, paralyzing software bugs) have been resolved by Ford via new factory parts and massive OTA updates. The introduction of the LFP battery on the entry-level model is a major asset for longevity and daily use. It is an electric SUV with a strong character, very pleasant to drive, although a bit firm. It is a highly recommendable purchase today, particularly in the Standard Range LFP version for the price-to-performance ratio, or Extended Range RWD for high-mileage drivers.
