If you are looking for a petrol-powered vehicle, the 1.5 EcoBoost is a decent, economical choice for daily driving, while the 2.0 EcoBoost (where available) offers genuine performance. However, the true sweet spots of the range are the 2.5 FHEV and PHEV models. They combine the bulletproof reliability of a naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle engine with excellent fuel economy. Buying Advice: Avoid 2020 PHEV models unless you have absolute proof the high-voltage battery was replaced by Ford. Post-2021 hybrids and petrol models are generally very reliable. Avoid the EcoBlue diesels unless you exclusively drive long highway distances, due to complex emissions systems and oil pump belt concerns.
