Reliability score : 8.4/10

The Fiat 500e (Generation 332), also known as the New 500, marks a radical shift for the iconic city car. Unlike its predecessor (Gen 312) which was adapted for electric propulsion as an afterthought (the original 2013 California-only 500e), the Gen 332 is built on a bespoke, dedicated EV platform. 🎯 Verdict

The Fiat 500e (Gen 332) is arguably one of the best urban electric vehicles on the market. By moving to a dedicated EV platform, Fiat created a car that drives beautifully, looks fantastic, and charges quickly. Mechanically, the electric motors and high-voltage batteries have proven robust. However, the ownership experience can occasionally be marred by Stellantis-typical software bugs, app connectivity issues, and 12V battery failures. Buying Advice: Avoid the 23.8 kWh version unless your commute is strictly urban and you have home charging. The 42 kWh version is the sweet spot, offering genuine versatility. Aim for a 2022 or newer model, as early 2020-2021 cars suffered from early-adopter software glitches. Always ensure the 12V battery is fresh and all dealer software updates have been applied.
