Dacia Logan III (2020–2025) (2020 – 2025)

Reliability score : 7.8/10

The third-generation Dacia Logan, launched in 2020, marks a major evolution for the model. Based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-B platform (shared with the Clio V and Captur II), it sheds the image of a raw 'low-cost' car to offer an essential, modern, safer, and better-equipped vehicle. Its design is more dynamic, and the interior gains in perceived quality and technology. The Logan III positions itself as a compact sedan at a contained price, offering an excellent space-to-price ratio. It is primarily intended for European and some emerging markets, often alongside its sibling, the Sandero III. Overall, it's a model that has managed to move upmarket without denying its fundamentals of accessibility and robustness.

🎯 Verdict

The Dacia Logan III represents an excellent proposition in the recent used car market. It has managed to erase the main flaws of its predecessors to offer a modern, safe, and comfortable car, while maintaining a very competitive purchase and running cost. The petrol engines (SCe and TCe) are safe bets in terms of reliability and maintenance. The 1.0 TCe 90 offers the best versatility. The LPG version is a wise economic choice for high-mileage drivers, provided specific maintenance is followed. The 1.5 Blue dCi, although intrinsically reliable, should be considered with caution on the used market due to potential costs related to the AdBlue system and DPF, especially if the intended use is predominantly urban. Furthermore, its availability is very limited. Official recalls, particularly those concerning the AEBS, must be checked: ensure that all recall campaigns have been carried out by the previous owner. For family or daily use without frills, the Logan III is a rational and reliable choice. BUY it primarily with TCe petrol engines.
