Dacia Duster II (2017 – 2023)

Reliability score : 8.2/10

The Dacia Duster II (codename HM) had the challenging task of succeeding an absolute best-seller. Launched in late 2017, it retains its predecessor's B0+ platform but completely modernizes its bodywork, interior, and soundproofing. Positioned as the compact SUV with an unbeatable price/performance ratio, it underwent two major evolutions: a technical and aesthetic facelift in 2021 (new Y-shaped light signature, 8-inch screen, EDC gearbox) and the integration of Dacia's new visual identity (new 'Dacia Link' logo) in late 2022. 🎯 Verdict

The Dacia Duster II is a highly recommendable used purchase, on the strict condition of opting for the right engine. If you are looking for a petrol model, the 1.0 TCe, 1.0 Eco-G (LPG), and 1.3 TCe units are excellent choices, combining reliability, driving pleasure, and controlled costs. The LPG version is the absolute best buy to counter fuel inflation. However, flee like the plague from 2017-2018 models equipped with the 1.2 TCe 125, whose design flaws are irreversible. On the diesel side, the older 1.5 dCi (without AdBlue) are robust, but the recent Blue dCi are plagued by chronic and expensive failures of the anti-pollution system. Prioritize a facelifted model (post-2021) for better equipment and refined ergonomics.
