Dacia Duster I (2010 – 2017)

Reliability score : 7.0/10

The first-generation Dacia Duster (codename H79) revolutionized the European and global automotive market upon its launch in 2010. Based on the B0 platform (proven on the Clio II and Logan), it democratized access to compact SUVs thanks to an unbeatable price/performance ratio. Offered with front-wheel drive (4x2) or an excellent all-wheel drive (4x4) borrowed from Nissan, it stands out for its robustness on degraded roads and its off-road capabilities. 🎯 Verdict

The Dacia Duster I is an extremely pragmatic choice for anyone looking for a utility, family, or off-road vehicle without breaking the bank. Its rustic design is its greatest strength, ensuring minimal running costs. However, the choice of engine dictates the experience. We highly recommend the 1.6 16v (K4M) versions for low-mileage drivers, and the 1.5 dCi (Phase 2, after 2013) for high-mileage drivers. The 4x4 version is a real asset in the countryside or mountains. On the other hand, flee the 1.2 TCe 125 like the plague, whose design flaws (Motorgate) turn the purchase into a financial black hole. Prioritize a Phase 2 (late 2013+) for its improved soundproofing and modernized equipment.
