BMW X7 I facelift (G07) (2022 – 2025)

Reliability score : 8.4/10

The BMW X7 (G07) LCI (Life Cycle Impulse / Facelift), introduced in mid-2022, represents the pinnacle of luxury and space at BMW. This facelift stands out with a controversial split-headlight front end, the integration of the large curved screen BMW Curved Display (iDrive 8/8.5), and widespread 48V mild-hybridization across all engines. Designed primarily for the North American and Asian markets, it excels with its imperial comfort (standard air suspension), soundproofing, and the driving pleasure of its six-cylinder and V8 engines. Although imposing and heavy, it retains astonishing dynamism for its size. The absence of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, however, remains a weak point compared to certain competitors on the European market.

🎯 Verdict

The BMW X7 LCI (2022+) is an ultra-luxury SUV that achieves the feat of combining limousine comfort with surprising dynamism for its 2.4 tons. The xDrive40i (B58) petrol engine is the most rational and reliable choice, offering more than sufficient performance and proven reliability. The M60i will delight V8 enthusiasts, although its running costs are astronomical. Be careful, however: the model has been affected by recent major recalls (notably the IBS braking system and the starter), which must imperatively be checked before purchase. Also, plan a substantial budget for consumables (tires, brakes) which melt away quickly under the weight of the vehicle.
