However, buying a used diesel requires absolute vigilance regarding the EGR cooler recall. Demand an invoice or a BMW certificate proving that the part has been replaced with the corrected version. If you drive less than 20,000 km per year, opt for the excellent petrol engines (20i or M40i) or the PHEV (30e), which will spare you issues with clogging and EGR.
