Audi Q8 I facelift (4M8) (2023 – 2025)

Reliability score : 7.4/10

The first-generation Audi Q8 (Type 4M8) received a facelift in late 2023 to boost its appeal against fierce competition. 🎯 Verdict

The facelifted Audi Q8 (2023-2025) remains one of the most accomplished SUV Coupes on the market, offering an exceptional compromise between supreme comfort, cutting-edge technology, and performance (especially in V6 and V8 petrol). However, its reliability record is tarnished by the chronic fragility of the 48V mild hybrid system (alternator-starter) on the V6 engines, a known Volkswagen Group failure that can immobilize the vehicle. Furthermore, the recent list of recalls (airbags, seat belts, PHEV batteries) shows that the assembly complexity requires absolute vigilance. Purchase recommended under strict manufacturer warranty or with a solid extended warranty. Avoid used models whose maintenance history is not 100% clear and exclusive to the Audi network.
