🎯 Verdict

The Audi Q5 (FY) is a highly accomplished premium SUV that successfully corrected the major engine flaws of its predecessor. If you are looking for a petrol model, the 45 TFSI (2.0L EA888) is the sweet spot: it offers plenty of power, good efficiency, and proven reliability, provided you keep up with transmission fluid changes and monitor the water pump. For performance seekers, the SQ5 (3.0 TFSI) is fantastic, but strictly avoid 2017 and early 2018 models unless the rocker arms have been updated or thoroughly inspected. The PHEV models are appealing for tax purposes and short commutes, but their added complexity makes them less desirable for long-term ownership outside of warranty. Overall, a post-2019 2.0 TFSI model is a highly recommended purchase.
