Audi A6 C7 (4G) (2011 – 2018)

Reliability score : 7.6/10

The fourth-generation Audi A6, codenamed C7 (Typ 4G), marked a technological turning point for the four-ring brand. Launched in 2011 and facelifted in late 2014 (Phase 2), it is based on the modular MLB platform, incorporating a significant amount of aluminum to reduce its weight. Positioned in the highly competitive premium executive car segment (E-Segment), it stands out for its exceptional build quality, sound insulation, and technological content. 🎯 Verdict

The Audi A6 C7 is a masterful executive car that offers high-level performance, but it requires an informed buyer. If you are targeting a petrol engine, at all costs avoid the 2.0 TFSI models from before 2014 (Phase 1) as well as models equipped with the Multitronic gearbox. The top petrol choice is the 3.0 TFSI (supercharged V6): it offers remarkable reliability, V8-worthy enjoyment, and pairs perfectly with the S tronic or Tiptronic gearbox. For a more reasonable budget, a Phase 2 2.0 TFSI (after late 2014, EA888 Gen 3 engine) is an excellent compromise. Plan for a maintenance budget commensurate with the badge, particularly for gearbox oil changes and running gear.
