Alfa Romeo Giulia I phase 2 (952) (2020 – 2025)

Reliability score : 8.5/10

The Alfa Romeo Giulia (Type 952) Phase 2 marks the maturity of the Italian sedan. Initially launched in 2016, it benefited from a major update (MY2020) correcting its main youthful flaws: the cabin receives better quality materials, infotainment becomes touch-sensitive (8.8 inches) with a redesigned interface, and driving aids (ADAS) reach level 2. In 2023, a second facelift (MY2023) brings Full LED Matrix 'Trilobo' headlights and a 100% digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster. Based on the excellent Giorgio platform, it remains the dynamic benchmark in its segment. Unlike its competitors, it completely foregoes hybridization, which penalizes its sales but delights purists of thermal mechanics.

🎯 Verdict

The Giulia Phase 2 (2020+) is one of the most captivating sedans on the market. By correcting the finish and electronics flaws of Phase 1, Alfa Romeo has made its sedan highly recommendable. The 2.0 Turbo petrol engine (200 or 280 hp) is the preferred choice: it is very reliable, powerful, and perfectly matches the masterful chassis. While the absence of hybridization may deter company fleets, it guarantees private owners a simpler mechanical system less prone to complex long-term failures. A passionate purchase that has become, with this Phase 2, a reasonable purchase.
