🎯 Verdict

The first-generation Peugeot 3008 is a brilliant family car ruined by several disastrous engine and transmission choices. If you buy the wrong version (1.6 THP, 1.6 VTi, early 1.6 HDi 110, or anything with the BMP6 gearbox), it will be a financial nightmare. However, if you specifically seek out a 2.0 HDi (150 or 163 hp) with a manual or true automatic (AM6) gearbox, or a post-2011 1.6 e-HDi 112/115 hp with a manual gearbox, you will get a highly reliable, practical, and comfortable crossover that represents excellent value on the used market.
